Dal 1924 - anno della sua fondazione - sono passati 90 anni e il 26 aprile la Federazione ha voluto celebrare questo prestigioso anniversario con una solenne cerimonia che é avvenuta nella sala d'onore del Coni.
Alla presenza del presidente del CONI Giovanni Malagò e del presidente della Federazione Mondiale (FMJD) Harry Otten si sono ripercorsi i momenti più significativi della storia della Federazione e si sono volute premiare le persone - atleti e dirigenti - che maggiormente hanno dato lustro alla disciplina sportiva della dama.
Notevole interesse ha suscitato la celebrazione anche agli organi di comunicazione: la Rai ha dedicato un ampio servizio al nostro sport ed ai 90 Anni dell FID inserendolo nell'edizione serale del TG1.

Since 1924 - the year of its founding - have passed 90 years and last 26 April, the Federation has celebrated this prestigious anniversary with a solemn ceremony that has taken place in the "Hall of honor" of the Italian Olympic National Committee (CONI).
In the presence of the CONI President, Giovanni Malagò, and of the FMJD (World Draughts Federation) President, Harry Otten, it's been retraced the most important moments in the history of the Italian Draughts Federation. On this occasion, have been awarded some significant people (athletes, trainers, referees and executives) who have given much prestige to the sport of draughts/checkers.
The celebration has attracted plenty of interest also from the National media: RaiUno (the Italian First Channel) has dedicated an extensive service to our sport and to the 90th Foundation Year of FID, in the evening edition of TG1 (the most-watched national television news).
